Portraits

“No. I have missed the Carnatic, and I must get to Yokohama by the 14th at the latest, to take the boat for San Francisco.”Jules Verne

BRIEF

Metaphors are so well established in everyday language that hardly we can see them. For example we say ‘I blowed my nose in a the tissue’ or ‘That drawing seems real’ or ‘I have a tune in my head’ etcetera… But, how they would look like into the reality of each day?

FINAL RESULT

Transforming some of the most common, kiwi and italian metaphoric sentences, into imagery. The challenge of the project, has been to use my personal portrait as many times as possible on a plain background, to create a natural connection between the subject and the audience.

In photo manipulation, I truly believe that small details can make a huge difference. I focused exclusively on the subject, to reinforce expressions and I kept the background as clean as possible. The result is a funny trip into an imaginary world, between expressions, colours and unbelievable creations.

Widely accepted as an art form, photo manipulation requires skill as well as an active imagination but, how many variations could I create, using simply my face? Well… I collected 65 of them.
